1111 Risk factor analysis for poor visual outcome following PRK
نویسندگان
چکیده
Purpose: To evaluate. long term efficacy, safety and stability of PRK for low and moderate myopia. Methods: 110 patients were treated for myopia up to 6D with the Summit Excimed excimer laser. The optical zone was 5mm in all cases. Manifest t&action. refraction under cycloplegla, comenl haze and comeal topography werc studied at D15, 1. 3, 6. 12. and 24 months after the surgery. Results: 110 patients completed all examinations up to 1 year. 58 patients were studied up to 2 years. The refractive results were. very good: C+/-O.4D at one year and -0.05+/0.4D at 2 years for manifest refraction, and 0.37+/-0.8 at one year and 0.25+/-0.7 at 2 years for refmction under cycloplegia. Comeal haze diminished with time up to 2 years (0.24+/-0.4 at one year and 0.12+/-0.3 at 2 years). Them were no statisticdly significant differences between one and 2 years results regarding refraction. uncorrected visual acuity and best corrected visual acuity among the 58 patients seen at 1 and 2 years afta the treatment, although some late regression was seen in very few eyes. Conclusion: The refractive results of PRX appear stable between 1 and 2 years after surgery for low myopia. Corneal clarity still improves with time between one and 2 years after the treatment. lll3 Vkion Res. Vol. 35. Suppl., pp. S5l -S245. 1995

Photorefractive keratectomy for anisometropic amblyopia in children.
PURPOSE To assess the safety and efficacy of photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) in children with anisometropic amblyopia and to define the characteristics of children who may be candidates for PRK. METHODS This thesis comprises four parts: (1) a retrospective analysis of risk factors predictive of amblyopia treatment failure in 104 children, (2) a prospective study of pachymetry in 198 eyes of...

PURPOSE To compare early postoperative pain and visual outcomes after epipolis-laser in situ keratomileusis (epi-LASIK) and photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) in the treatment of myopia. METHODS A retrospective chart review was designed and included 49 eyes in 30 patients who underwent epi-LASIK and 54 eyes in 29 patients who underwent PRK. During the early postoperative period (days 1 to 5), ...

Many studies have shown the effectiveness of photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) in correction of vision in low and moderate Myopia. To evaluate the results of 193-nm exeimer laser photorefractive keratectomy for highly Myopic eyes, we reviewed refractive outcome of 43 eyes of 30 patients. Most eyes were treated with 1-step operation, using a 6 mm optical zone. 43 eyes were treated for Myopia, wh...

متن کاملVisual acuity outcomes in eyes with flat corneas after PRK.
PURPOSE To evaluate the impact of corneal curvatures less than 35 diopters (D) after photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) on visual acuity outcomes. METHODS Visual acuity outcomes of 5,410 eyes that underwent PRK from January 2006 to November 2010 were retrospectively analyzed for the impact of postoperative corneal curvatures on visual outcomes. All procedures were performed on a single platfor...
